the Author
For
five years Dr. David Garrison served as the Southern
Baptist International Mission Boards Associate
Vice President for Global Strategy assisting the IMBs
5,000 missionaries ministering in 150 countries.
Garrisons quest to understand and join Gods
global mission has led him on an adventure to more than
80 countries. He has lived in Hong Kong, Japan, Germany,
France, England, Egypt, Tunisia, and India.
In 1988, Garrison earned a Ph.D. in historical theology
from the University of Chicago. He has taught missions
and Christian studies at Southwestern Baptist Seminary,
Fuller Theological Seminary, and Hong Kong Baptist
University. His previous books include The Nonresidential
Missionary (MARC, 1990), Something New Under the Sun
(IMB, 1998), and the booklet Church Planting Movements
(IMB, 2000).
David Garrison now lives with his wife and four children
in South Asia.
